The consultation will help to introduce us to each other, get more information about our Agency and understand what type of service and program you need.
You will be able to ask any questions regarding the surrogacy procedure, surrogate mothers, egg donors, medical part, estimated costs and schedule of payments. We can discuss your planned arrival and stay in Georgia. We can provide you with access to our online egg donor data-base allowing you to select the egg donor who meets all your criteria.
After your arrival in Georgia, we shall arrange an appointment at the IVF clinic where you shall meet your doctor in charge and fill in your Case History. When you are prepared to launch the program, we shall invite you to sign the contract which legally enables us to start matching the surrogate mother and egg donor.
Our next step will be to make a final decision regarding surrogate mother and egg donor candidacies who meet your requirements.
Medical examination of the surrogate mother and/or egg donor will be carried out in the clinic recommended by our Agency. The examination will reveal if the surrogate mother and/or egg donor are suitable for this program in terms of health indicators. And furthermore, the surrogate mother will undergo psychological testing. We are rechecking background and living conditions of the surrogate mother several times.
During your stay in Georgia we shall arrange an appointment with a highly qualified notary, as in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation of Georgia, the contract between the couple and the surrogate mother and/or egg donor must be notarized. All the rights and obligations of all parties will be detailed in the contract, this will ensure the legal grounds for the due performance of commitments of all parties concerned.
When the medical tests of an egg donor are done, on her cycle day 2 she starts her hormonal stimulation of ovaries. After pick up/retrieval of the eggs, IVF/ICSI is performed. In case the Intended parents are willing to do a PGS/NGS genetic screening of the embryos – it is done on embryo development day 5/6 and the biopsy material is sent abroad to the genetic lab. The result can be awaited in 2-4 weeks. While we are waiting for the PGS/NGS result we start matching of the surrogate mother. The surrogate mother is checked at the clinic by ultrasound on her cycle day 9-10-11. Once she is confirmed by the doctors, she does her medical tests. We start her preparation for the embryo transfer on her next cycle day 2 and the embryos transfer is done between cycle day 14 and 18 depending on the thickness of the endometrium of the surrogate mother.
The entire process, including examination, preparation, stimulation and embryo transfer, takes about 6-8 weeks.
12 days after the embryo transfer, the surrogate mother must visit the clinic for the hCG blood test. The human chorionic
gonadotropin (hCG) blood test measures the level of hCG hormone present in a sample of blood. hCG is produced during pregnancy. In case of positive hCG test result, we do one more hCG test in 2 days just to be sure that the figure of the hCG is increasing, meaning development of the pregnancy. First ultrasonography is done to define the embryo in the uterus of the surrogate mother and the next ultrasonography is done to define heartbeat. Upon the positive result hCG test and ultrasonography, the surrogate mother is under the patronage of her personal gynecologist at the IVF clinic and then, beginning with the gestation week 20, she is transferred to the maternity hospital for the further prenatal care.
Delivery of the baby/babies are performed in one of the best Maternity House of Georgia. Surrogate mother is visiting the hospital more frequently starting with week 36 as the doctor in charge controls state of health of the baby/babies and the surrogate mother which enables all parties involved to be prepared for the delivery in due time.
Within two or three days after delivery, we submit all the necessary documentation to the Georgian Civil Registry Office for
obtaining the birth certificate of the baby/babies. Normally, the birth certificate is issued in five working days after submission of the documents. However, the maximum delay of the issue of the birth certificate can take two weeks as the Registry Office (under the Ministry of the Justice) may demand additional documents which are not included into the standard submission package or may demand additional documents straight from the IVF clinic. The birth certificate contains name of the baby and names of Intended parents.
Names of the surrogate mother and egg donor are not fixed in the birth certificate. Actually, the birth certificate of the baby born via surrogacy does not differ from the ordinary birth certificate of the baby born naturally. The birth certificate can be translated into English and either notarized or Apostilled, depending on the requirements of the embassy concerned.
In case Intended Parents need any document for submission to their embassy in order to obtain passport(s) for the baby/babies, our Agency is ready to help and arrange the required document.
