CONSULTATION

Our first introduction can be made by e-mail, phone or Skype. The focus of this first introduction is to inform you about the process, projected costs.  No surprises and unnecessary complications. We’ve been in your shoes, and we understand the importance of convenience, transparency and accurate information.

GETTING STARTED

After you arrive to Georgia we shall meet with you in whatever setting is most convenient and comfortable for you—a coffee house, clinic or our office. Once you feel fully informed and ready on your journey to parenthood with us, we will ask you to sign our agreement. This formality will provide us with the legal standing to begin seeking professional services, surrogates and/or donors on your behalf.

IDENTIFYING DONOR & SURROGATE

Our next step will be to identify surrogates and/or donors who are compatible with your expectations and needs.

MEDICAL SCREENING

One of Aurora-Georgia’s recommended clinics will conduct medical screenings of surrogate and/or donors to ensure they are physically capable of serving in their roles. The surrogate mother also will undergo a background check and psychological screening.

LEGAL

We shall connect you with a highly qualified notary as properly executed agreements between intended parents and surrogates and/or donor are essential to ensure the rights and obligations of each party are clear and legally documented.

MEDICAL CYCLE

The egg donor or intended mother will be given medication to enhance egg production, her cycles closely monitored. The fertilization process takes about three weeks. Once one or more viable embryos are produced, a pregnancy is attempted.

PREGNANCY

12 to 14 days following the embryo(s) transfer, the surrogate mother is given a blood test for pregnancy. Once the surrogate is pregnant, an ultrasound scan will be conducted to detect the baby’s heartbeat, usually 8 to 10 weeks into the pregnancy. With the positive ultrasound, the surrogate is later released to the care of her own OBGYN for the duration of the pregnancy.
